Marketing

  • LinkedIn can be leveraged to write about your industry.
  • You can take offers to write for industry magazines to build your network.
  • Create content for people that helps them out using writing, videos or podcasts.
  • Building trust is the first thing you can do when building a product on line.
  • Market research showed a presence in standard elearning but not with WordPress.
  • The experience of launching in the product space can be an eye opener.
  • A competition was created for e-mail subscribers where they wrote about e-learning to win a copy of the plugin.
  • Other e-mail subscribers were offered a launch discount for liking the product before launch.
  • Do not get stuck in Ready, Set, Launch. You will get feedback right away from users.
  • Mobile learning is skyrocketing in the elearning space and is taking on the acronym mlearning.
  • Bite size learning has taken off with mlearning as long as the learning task is singular.

Support

  • Support in the product space is a huge consideration and can be a challenge.
  • Feedback can be submitted through the support forum.
  • Suggestions are made for feature sets as people are using the product.
  • Set up your expectations in your support. Limit support to your products.
  • Support challenges exist because LearnDash is used in many industries.

Pricing

  • Pricing can be a complex science.  WordPress pricing seems drastically lower than other systems.
  • Adding reup for licensing has helped for pricing.
  • Segmentation for installations is successful for product pricing.
  • Don’t be afraid to experiment with pricing.

Partnerships

  • Have strong business processes before reaching out for partnership.
  • Integrations with LearnDash are being built by third party firms.
  • The add on approach for learning management systems is working in the WordPress space.
